Video is one of the most powerful yet underrated tools you can use in your Dubsado Proposals.
Automation and workflows are amazingly powerful, but it’s still so important to make every client feel appreciated. Who wants to feel like they’re one of hundreds of clients? Everyone wants to feel special.
Embedding videos in your Dubsado proposals & questionnaires is a great way to make connect on a personal level with your clients. Here are a few suggestions on how to incorporate video into your Dubsado workflows.
- Create an introduction video and add it to your proposals – bonus points if you create personalised videos and address potential clients by name! Clients always feel extra special when I include a friendly welcome video in my proposals!
- Film welcome video messages when you start working with a new client. You could use this video to explain the next steps in your process, provide instructions on how to use their client portal or simply tell them how excited you are to work with them.
- Film instructional videos for your clients. For example, as a web developer, when I handover a project, I provide them with a resource library on how to edit and update their site. This is a huge value add to my services. 95% of the videos in my resource library are generic, which means I can reuse them across every project! I sprinkle in a few custom filmed videos for anything specific to their site.
- Present concepts and revisions with a video explaining your thought processes behind the decisions. As I work remotely with 90% of my clients, I typically have to present concepts virtually. Whilst some projects I present through a video call, often we’ll send them through Dubsado. To accompany the revisions, I like film a video explaining my thought process behind them. Story-telling is a huge part of presenting brands and websites.
How to embed video in your Dubsado Forms
You have many options when it comes to hosting your videos YouTube and Vimeo are two popular free options. Once you’ve uploaded your video to your host, copy and paste the embed code into a code block within your Dubsado form. You can add videos to most types of form, whether that’s proposals, questionnaires or lead capture forms. You can’t embed into contracts, but it’s unlikely that you’ll want to!
If you’re using Youtube, you may want to upload your video as ‘unlisted’. Unlisted videos don’t appear in any search results, only people with the link can view it. To grab your embed code, click Share and then embed. (You’ll usually find it underneath your video, but YouTube does like to change things up, so it may have moved!).
If you’re using Vimeo you’ll probably want to set your privacy settings as hide from Vimeo. This works similarly to Youtube’s unlisted videos. Again, hit the share button and grab your embed code.
Once you’ve got your embed code, you can paste it into a code block and drag it anywhere you like within your Dubsado form.
How to create quick videos for Dubsado
You may not need to create a full professionally edited video, that may be overkill. Instead you can create quick videos in minutes.
My favourite tool for creating quick welcome videos for my Dubsado proposals is Loom. Loom allows you to record yourself and/or your screen, it will even host the videos for you without any extra steps! Loom will also let you know when your video has been viewed which is AWESOME for knowing how your videos are performing. Loom is available as a Chrome extension and is completely free!
Simply record a welcome video using Loom, if you don’t need to share your screen, you can use the camera only mode! Loom will then open your video in a new tab and will present you with your embed code. Simply copy and paste your video embed code in to a empty code block into your Dubsado forms.
How to center your videos in Dubsado forms
Depending on your embed code, you may want your video to be centered within it’s code block container.
Simply add <center> </center> around your embed code!
